2. The law we follow۲۔ ہم کن قوانین کی پابندی کرتے ہیں
Pakistan does not yet have a general data protection statute in force: the Personal Data Protection Bill is still before Parliament and the National Commission for Personal Data Protection is not yet operating. In the meantime we are bound by the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA), which makes the misuse of another person's identity information a criminal offence, and by NADRA's Digital Identity Regulations 2025, under which a NADRA digital CNIC has the same legal value as the physical card — we accept both. We have chosen to apply the standards of the pending Bill already today: explicit consent for sensitive data, purpose limitation, and your right to withdraw.

4. Identity documents: what happens to your CNIC۴۔ شناختی دستاویز: آپ کے CNIC کا کیا ہوتا ہے
This is the part that matters most, so we are precise. When you verify your identity you are taken to Didit, our verification partner, and the document is uploaded directly to them. The photograph of your CNIC, passport or digital CNIC never passes through Jorri's servers and is never stored by us. From Didit we receive only: whether the check passed, when, an internal session reference, and your date of birth, which we use for one purpose only — refusing anyone under 18.

Didit processes the document and the live selfie in the European Union under its own privacy policy and retention rules. We ask for your explicit consent to this, including the transfer outside Pakistan, before the check starts, and you can withdraw it (see section 8). We accept the NADRA digital CNIC exactly like the physical card.

5. Where your data lives۵۔ آپ کا ڈیٹا کہاں رہتا ہے
Jorri's servers are hosted in the Netherlands (European Union). Your profile, photos and messages are therefore stored outside Pakistan. Identity verification is carried out by Didit, also in the European Union. We tell you this plainly because the pending Pakistani Bill will require your consent for such transfers, and we ask for it now: by creating an account you consent to your data being processed on these servers.
جوڑی کے سرور نیدرلینڈز (یورپی یونین) میں ہیں۔ یعنی آپ کی پروفائل، تصاویر اور پیغامات پاکستان سے باہر محفوظ ہوتے ہیں۔ شناخت کی تصدیق بھی Didit یورپی یونین میں کرتا ہے۔ ہم یہ صاف بتاتے ہیں کیونکہ زیرِ التوا پاکستانی بل ایسی منتقلی کے لیے آپ کی رضامندی مانگے گا، اور ہم وہ ابھی مانگتے ہیں: اکاؤنٹ بنانے سے آپ اس پر رضامند ہوتے ہیں۔
Your locationآپ کا مقام
If you allow it, your phone gives us your position so we can show you people near you and tell them roughly how far away you are. Three things are true and we want them in writing:
اگر آپ اجازت دیں تو آپ کا فون ہمیں آپ کا مقام دیتا ہے تاکہ ہم قریب کے لوگ دکھا سکیں اور اُنہیں تقریبی فاصلہ بتا سکیں۔ تین باتیں طے ہیں:
- We round your coordinates to about one mile before saving them. We never store the exact point where you are.محفوظ کرنے سے پہلے ہم آپ کے کوآرڈینیٹس کو تقریباً ایک میل تک گول کر دیتے ہیں۔ آپ کی درست جگہ کبھی محفوظ نہیں ہوتی۔
- Other members see only the nearest large city and an approximate distance ("about 30 miles"). - If you buy travel mode to appear in another city, everyone who sees your profile also sees a "Travelling" label. 6. Who else sees your data۶۔ آپ کا ڈیٹا اور کون دیکھتا ہے
- Other members: your profile, photos and what you write. Never your phone number, your exact address or your verification data.دیگر اراکین: آپ کی پروفائل، تصاویر اور جو آپ لکھتے ہیں۔ آپ کا فون نمبر، درست پتہ یا تصدیقی ڈیٹا کبھی نہیں۔
- Didit (identity verification, EU).Didit (شناخت کی تصدیق، یورپی یونین)۔
- OpenStreetMap (map tiles). When the map is open, your browser requests map images directly from OpenStreetMap's servers, which therefore see your IP address and the map area you are looking at. We never send them your account, your name or your stored coordinates. - Payment channels (JazzCash, EasyPaisa, HBL): they see the transfer you make to Hyperblock. 7. How long we keep it۷۔ ہم کتنا عرصہ رکھتے ہیں
- Profile, photos and messages: while your account exists. When you delete the account they are removed within 30 days, backups included.پروفائل، تصاویر اور پیغامات: جب تک اکاؤنٹ موجود ہے۔ اکاؤنٹ حذف کرنے پر 30 دن کے اندر ختم، بیک اپ سمیت۔
- Face signatures: deleted together with the photo they came from.چہرے کے نشانات: متعلقہ تصویر کے ساتھ ہی حذف۔
- Verification outcome and date of birth: while your account exists, as proof that the profile was verified.تصدیق کا نتیجہ اور تاریخِ پیدائش: جب تک اکاؤنٹ موجود ہے۔

8. Your choices۸۔ آپ کے اختیارات
You can see and correct your profile at any time from the app; ask us for a copy of your data; delete your account and everything in it; withdraw consent to identity verification, which deletes the verification data we hold and removes your profile from Discover; and turn notifications off. Write to privacy@jorri.pk and we answer within 30 days. Once the National Commission for Personal Data Protection begins operating, you will also be able to complain to it.

9. Children۹۔ کم عمر افراد
Jorri is for adults of marriageable age. Nobody under 18 may use it. If the date of birth on your ID document shows you are under 18, the account is blocked immediately and the data is deleted.
جوڑی بالغ افراد کے لیے ہے۔ 18 سال سے کم عمر کوئی شخص اسے استعمال نہیں کر سکتا۔ اگر دستاویز پر تاریخِ پیدائش 18 سال سے کم ظاہر کرے تو اکاؤنٹ فوراً بند اور ڈیٹا حذف کر دیا جاتا ہے۔
10. Security۱۰۔ سیکیورٹی
Traffic is encrypted with TLS, access to the servers is by key only and limited to the people who need it, notifications are discreet by default so nothing sensitive appears on your lock screen, and identity documents are never in our hands to begin with. No system is perfect: if a breach affects you, we will tell you.
